Submit your own bad websites.

Harmon Web Innovations

It's a special kind of tragic when we come across a website for a web development company that makes themselves look bad.  What were you thinking!?  Trying to sell other people your services with glaring errors on your own website?

Wasting nearly the entire area above the fold is reckless.  "By anticipating our "cleient's" needs", "When you bussiness start to grow" and "many companies don't know how to implment such technolgy" shows you can't and don't proofread.

Giving employee 1 a name and info, while leaving employee 2 as a random stock photo and lorem ipsum bio is pitiful.  Then you go and mention Bitcoin?

Unsubscribe.

Web Factors

We held on to this one.  It was submitted almost exactly a year ago, from someone who said "funny, I didn't think a WEB company would take their own website down before putting a new one up immediately" and they were correct.  Why would you do that?  Just keep the old one up until the new one's ready.

However, being in the business, we held on to it in case a new site was forthcoming.  Welp - here it is, a YEAR later, and no new site.  So as far as "Internet Business Strategy and Development", we're calling it a fail.

Pacific Northwest X-Ray

This can't be real.  Right?  When this site was submitted we figured it had to be "bad on purpose."  How can a website have a Skype link, yet be so visually galling?  From the 80s?

Shrug.  If they're still in business, their customers may not care. It's hard to tell though, as their address is a PO Box which is always suspicious.  Also quaint - still using "toll free" numbers.  Doesn't everyone have the ability to call long distance without extra charges?  Certainly customers in charge of BUYING X-RAY EQUIPMENT.  These aren't casual home users - at least we hope not.  Exam table in Berry Plush anyone?  Pediatric Gonad Shields? (with a "Fun n Fashion Fabric Upgrade" available.)

Holy crap - the landing page mentions a "web design team."  !!!

UCLA

Bruins, brain, anderson, art...these are some of the keywords (how quaint) for this University's website.  What - you wouldn't have thought those related to UCLA?  Neither do we.  anderson??

Looking at the landing page, we'd have expected features on Academics, or seeing students busily learning, or maybe even a grand photo of a notable and picturesque campus area.  NO!  You'll get an advertisement for a book that a professor wrote, a roundup of news stories for the last year, and plenty of links to the U's social media accounts.

No SSL has been obtained for the site itself, but thankfully the Admissions page is secure.  Interesting note:  "Musicology" is offered as a major, including  courses titled "Collegium Musicum: 17th and 18th Centuries" and "Mapping Sonic Urban Geography of Los Angeles in 1940s."  hmmmm.

Little Bit Bedding

Does this look like "Custom made baby bedding, toddler bedding, room decor, and custom bedding for all bed sizes and room decor?"   NO, it does not.  That's because whoever WAS responsible for this website didn't secure it.

It's nearly incomprehensible these days to NOT have an SSL installed on your wesbite.  No one's going to take you seriously, and they certainly aren't going to give you any information about themselves, knowing it's not safe.

Do yourself a gigantic favor and apply for an SSL certificate, or find a company to do it for you.  Now.  TODAY.
